Be fined, in the current state of things, for taking their kids out of school for family holidays?

Did we not lock kids out of education for nearly 2 years? Did we not "lock" people up for nearly 2 years so holidays were nearly a criminal offence? Having a cup of coffee on a park bench outside with a friend got you a fine. (Unless you did anything in Durham at the time, sorry could not help myself!).

Now they want to fine parents for going on holidays. Now they want to force 2 years of a lost education, both school and life skills,on kids they locked out of an education?

Me? Im against it for the time being. Some thought is needed. Most people have a lost 2 years. I was CEV. I spent 16 months not stepping over my doorstep.
It still affects me mentally now i think.

I said it recently but i will say it again.

1 blokes conversation inspired me to crack on through lockdown. 1 conversation that really gave me food for thought at that time.

That man was Tel. 1 conversation got me personally through lockdown.

The answer is yes, in certain situations. Most kids are fine with attendance scores in the high 90s. A week's holiday is not going to make much difference. Currently, persistent absence (attendance below 90) is the highest it has ever been. Now many of these pupils may only attend school 50-80 percent of the time. Now no doubt some of these cases will be going through attendance procedures or be supported by early help, but some are lazy and can't be bothered to send their kids to school or the kids tell them they won't go to school so don't. They then put in a request for a three week holiday. This is when fines can be useful

Not the old Tractors and Telehandlers one was it?

Thought he'd have branched out to the drainage in the bottom field by now.

Or was it about the time he was on look north for retrieving Nelly Pledges cat from a tree?
Why must I feel like that . . . Why must I chase the 🐈
