As the mighty Boro thrashed Blackpool at Ayresome Park 9-2 in a 1st division fixture

The obvious star of the show was the legendary Wilf Mannion, who became the 9th different Boro player to score 4 goals in one game & in total, the 17th time a Boro player had scored 4 goals in one game

2nd star performer & another iconic goalscoring legend, Micky Fenton, who became the 23rd different Boro player when got in on the act scoring his 5th Boro career hat trick, the 49th at Ayresome Park & 65th in total

Cliff Chadwick, on his 1st start to the season, completed the goal feast when scoring a brace
