When Boro were crowned Anglo Scottish Cup winner

The run started beating Sunderland 3-2 at home, with goals from Graeme Souness, John Craggs & Bobby Murdoch with an attendance of 12,849
Carlisle up next, which we won comfortably 4-1, again at Ayresome park, with goals from, Ian Bailey, John Hickton penalty & a brace from Alan Willey, attendance of 8,7,37
To finish off the group games & progress to the knock out stages we we drew 2-2 at Newcastle, with goals from, Alan Willey & David Armstrong

We were drawn against Aberdeen in the quarter finals over two legs, winning the home leg at Ayresome Park 2-0, John Hickton penalty & a David Mills strike got the goals, attendance 13,956
We then went to Pittordrie & battered Aberdeen 5-2, with an aggregate score of 7-2, the goals on the night were scored by, Alan Foggon, with a brace from both John Hickton & David Mills

In to the semi finals & again over two legs, we faced Mansfield Town.
The game was probably over in the 1st leg winning 3-0 at Ayresome Park, with a brace from David Armstrong & a John Hickton strike
We followed this up with a 2-0 win at Mansfield, 5-0 on aggregate, goals from Bobby Murdoch & Graeme Souness

1st cup final of my time

Fulham were our opponents in the final & again over two legs, we had so many chances to have taken a sizable lead to Craven Cottage but typical Boro, after missing some many chances we took a slender 1-0 to London for the 2nd leg, courtecy of an OG, when Strong, deflected a David Armstrongs diving header,  hitting the inrushing the Fulham defender & past his own keeper at the holgate end in to the back of the net, gooooaaaaaallll, the holgate went crazy

We travelled to Craven Cottage, putting in a sterling performance drawing 0-0 to win the Anglo Scottish Cup 1-0 over two legs & winning a trophy, doesn't that sound great

It doesn't matter how people down grade it, its there in black & white in our history club handbooks, pennant's etc, we won our 1st trophy, the ASC
