75 years today today our beloved Boro travelled to fellow 1st division Sheff Utd for a league fixture

Without a league win since 30th October we needed to get some points on the board to start climbing back up the league & with 3 defeats, one draw & with only 2 goals to show since our last win, add to that not winning on our travells for over 2 months, its easier said than done

Unfortunatly, the poor cycle continued as our poor recent run of form didnt end this afternoon, as we suffered another defeat & again, without scoring an away goal, even with the likes of goal machine Micky Fenton, though in his final full season, failed to get anything from the game

Wilf Mannion hadn't played a game all season, we had to wait for the new year for his return to 1st team action

Manager David Jacks team finished in 19th place, our 3rd lowest top flight finish

We only won the one away game all season, when beating Bolton 3-0 but with drawing the return fixture 4-4 at Ayresome Park we couldnt even record one double that season
