1920 - First time we won on this day

Our 1st victory on this day was way back in 1920 & a 3-1 win at Ayresome Park over Everton in a division one fixture

Alonzo 'Jerry' Poulton scoring his 2nd ever Boro goal & 1st at home & goal machine, George Elliott, grabbed a brace to take his tally to 17 so far, another unbelievable Boro goalscorer for our 5th consecutive win & for the third time in our history, winning 5 top flight league games on the bounce, a record for us

Manager Jimmy Howie, our 6th to date, in his 1st full season as manager led  his team to an 8th place finish, our 4th highest finish, 5 places better off than the previous season
