Pat Cuff made his Boro debut on the 9th April 1974, home to Bolton, tuesday night fixture, becoming our 37th first team keeper, we were on a consecutive winning run of 9 wins pon the bounce & going for a record 10, I spoke to Pat Cuff at a reunion & he said, well it wasnt my fault, as the game ended 0-0

Pat Cuff was the challenger with Dave Brown in John Neals first season in charge to rival Jim Platt as the clubs No2, neither keeper was to go on & rival Jim Platt, Jim Stewart was signed in the summer of 78

Pat Cuff played a total of 36 games for the Boro, after having a loan spell with Grimsby he later signed for Millwall

Was a decent 'keeper was Cuff but Platty made the No 1 shirt his own and rightly so.

Saw Peter Brine in Tenerife last week. Thought he was in Oz but seemingly not according to one of the lads that pointed him out.

Was on my flight back to Newcastle

That was a lively day that one Erimus.
I've never seen so many bottles and darts in the air at any one time.

We got in the holgate really early that day, about one & stood at the front against the wall, a few lads ran passed us, think some Arsenal fans must have come in & chased fans down the front, they didnt stay long

I was in Clive Road right amongst it.

I was ten.
