When Nottm Forest were our visitors to Ayresome Park in a first division fixture

Boro had a poor start to the season, up to this fixture we had played 10 games, winning 3 & losing 7 in the process, losing our previous 3 home games

The Forest game, thankfully, put an end to that losing streak with a 2-1 win, gave the 10k crowd something to cheer for at last, with goals from John Hall & Samual Cail were enough to keep both points on Teesside

The Boro were without a manager since Andy Aitken left in February 1909 & so board picked the team each week until a new manager was brought in, which wasnt the case until the following summer 1910

Boro finished in 17th place, the clubs 2nd lowest top flight finish, 8 places lower than the previous season

While bowing out of the FAC 1st round to Everton after a replay
