Boro flashback this day 3rd of Nov 1973

Seen the mighty Boro come from behind to beat Luton Town 2-1 at Ayresome Park, me & our Kev stood in the boysend, our dad stood in front of us, seperated by a wall

Barry Butlin scored Lutons goal, the 5th goal the away team scored at Ayresome Park out of 8 for the season

David Armstrong & Alan Foggon put us in front for our 15th game of the season, with just the one defeat to show so far

Attendance -22,590

Great season - great team. Pound for pound the best we have had. Small squad, no weaknesses assembled at a low cost, great days to be a Boro fan. With a little investment in a striker we genuinely could of been title contenders for what is now the Premier.

The only downside to Jack - his cautiousness in not signing a quality striker.

For those of you not around - we were so close to the ultimate prize - although some will cite our Coca Cola cup win and reaching a Euro final as our finest hour.
