John Neals 1st season in charge

He inherited an excellent team, brought in some excellent signings, good players in the reserves too, we were blessed

At home we were as good as anyone on our day, on our travels we struggled, something John Neal never got the better of during his time as our manager

This day we beat Man Utd 2-1 at Ayresome Park with goals from Billy Ashcroft, his 2nd for the Boro since his record transfer & David Mills with his 6th of the season
