*** Dodgy Court Case Update ***

All charges against me have been dropped - just as I predicted.  But I'm angry that dishonest and malicious politicians were allowed to damage my reputation - manipulating the police, the CPS and some of the media.

A politically motivated allegation that I failed to make appropriate declarations of interests at four council meetings had already been proven false by expert lawyers, who conducted an independent investigation on behalf of Middlesbrough Council.

Despite the lawyers' report proving the allegation to be untrue, the police inexplicably progressed the matter to the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) who then decided it should go to court and set a date for it.

To make matters much worse, details of the case that has now been dropped were leaked to the media to maximise damage to me and my family.

This is a shocking cock-up by Cleveland Police and the CPS where they've shown themselves to be ignorant of the law and extremely gullible.

In my opinion, the malicious politician who went to the police with a bogus complaint and dodgy info should be put in prison for wasting the time of the police and CPS.

Anyone reading this should be very concerned - not for me but for others.

This will happen again so we need to make sure that proper training and monitoring of the CPS happens fast. 

I am calling for a full investigation into this episode which has cost the police and the CPS a lot of money and wasted everyone's time while causing untold stress to me and my family.
