Boros new manager John Neal took his new team to his old team for a pre season friendly players at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham

Billy Ashcroft, who John Neal, wanted to sign & eventually did when Billy became the clubs record signing & a player who the £100k for the club when he eventually reunited with his former manager

Big Billy said before this even though hecwas to be involved during any friendly & if selected, he'd give 100%, as well as giving his all for Wrexham fans who are paying money to watch their club but also in the hope of attracting interest from other First Division clubs to strengthen his position in contract talks

Boro tired badly in the second half, mainly lack of training, whereas Wrexham had been back in training for 3 weeks

After a week back from training & playing a friendly against Aberystwyth only tge day vefore the Wrexham game

Wrexham the following day was probably a game to much as we fell badly away to a 3-0 defeat

John Neal said after the match that it had been a good run out & sharpness & fitness will come as the build up to the new season
