So basically im full of shite about Whitby!

I would give my right bollock to be dragged around there by any of the grandkids!

Im blessed when it comes to Grandkids , love em all (4) to bits

I got taken to a fish shop up there for my lunch today by my lovely neighbours Tim and Dorothy. Some famous cafe/takeaway near Hinderwell.

Very tasty where ever it was.

Sure the place began with an E. Errington fisheries? Hmm...

The fish bites were like mini fish pieces and a lot in a portion.
And the curry sauce was delish.
The chips were plentiful.

An ambient decor with fast service.
All in all very pleasurable.

8/10.

I agree, Lovely place but too busy nowadays. Much prefer going midweek during school term or late afternoon.

As young lads we used to cruise down on a Friday night in our cars. Used to park up either in the co op car park right a the bottom end or on the hill near the arcades. The hill went out the window when I'd lowered my car that much the front wheels used to catch the arches when meandering up said hill.

Its a lovely place. Great views.

But once you have been etc.

Extortionate prices for fish and chips lately (15 bar in some places).

And the kids are off.

Maybe because its up the road from me that i dont feel the love for Whitby.

And if you have any mobility issues its a nightmare.

And the car parks cost more than actual cars.

And the worst thing?

ITS FULL OF LEEDS UTD SUPPORTERS!

I was there a out a year ago. It was raining and I had the MFC logo cost on. As I got out of the car the attendant said to me you are brave for wearing that round here. As my wife and I walked along the front, 4 out of 5 tops worn were Boro, I never saw a Leeds shirt.

Whitby is the pick up point for Leeds home games. At least 8 coaches a time.
I am maybe thinking of home games due to the number i have seen over the years.

When I was first going out with my wife we used to visit Whitby for the Motown and Northern Soul nights in the 70's.In the 80's up to her dying we used to go every year for the Northern Soul Allnighters at The George.Great memories of Whitby.
