Bryan Orritt wore every shirt number from 1 - 12 apart from No2
Which Ironically, was the number of the 1st substitution for the Boro, who Bryan Orrit replaced

Bryan didn't play at right back, Billy Horner slotted into the No2 position & Bryan Orritt played further upfield

His 1st appearence as a sub at AP was to replace injured goalkeeper Bob Appleby in a 2-0

Due to Irving Nattrass injury record at the Boro it was suprising that he did actually play one full season without missing a single game

1983-84 Nattrass played every minute of 42 league games, 3 FAC games & 2 league cup games, without been subbed 👍

Andy Nesbit Wilson played for the Boro between 1914 - 23 a prolific goal scorer, he scored 57 goals in 90 appearences

On the 3rd September 1921, after scoring his 3rd goal in a 3-2 home win over WBA, he had scored Boro 1,000th league goal

1923-24 November his final home match v Chelsea he scored, the following match v Chelsea away he drew a blank & was later transferred to Chelsea, at the end of the 1923-24 season both Boro & Chelsea were relegated & AW was top scorer for both teams

George Camsell has the best goals-to-game ratio of any England player, after getting to the 18-goal mark in just nine caps.

That is surprising. Good player was Nattrass.
Didn't we pay a big fee to get him from Newcastle? The biggest ever for a full back at the time I think.

£425k at the time, unfortunately we lost Stuey Boam to the Geordies back then too

Nattrass was a top, upcoming CB, nowhere near the late, great Willie Maddren but a very good signing all the same, sadly his poor form of injuries meant we never seen the best of him

He came to the club injured & when he actually started for the Boro, away to Arsenal, he wore No10

Didn't he have a newsagents in Boro, that one on the corner of West lane, near where you use to live? . . . I remember Boams shop on Barnabas Rd
Why must I feel like that . . . Why must I chase the 🐈

17/1/1981 - Dave Hodgson was the penultimate football league player to receive a 'red card' before red cards were binned & then reintroduced 6 years later (1987/88 season)

After putting Boro one nil up after 5 minutes Hodgy received his marching orders in the 22nd minute in a 3-2 defeat, all this while wearing a Man Utd home shirt due to television banning sponsors names on shirts

Man Citys Nicky Reid was later sent off in the 88th minute to become the last red carded footballer at the time
