Announce a bill to ban social media to u16s.

Finally a politician has said the magic words.

"How is this enforceable?".

The answer finally given?

"Well what it means is that everyone will have to show/prove age verification."

Seems a bit "control internet usage".

@BoroRedKen mixed feelings on it. I do feel that social media is dangerous for youngsters on a number of levels. I do think it's against the libertarian heartbeat of the internet though.

Might get them out playing kerby and socialising more though

BoroRedKen

Yeah. My point is that its disguised as "u16s".

When the reality is everyone will have to prove their age.

I say now that in the next 2 years sites like RR will be gone. Fmttm also.

Who in their right mind is going to provide their real names, age, address etc to sites like these?.

The 1fannys of this world aint never going to post under his real name of ............... (so fucking tempting!).

More control over EVERYBODY not just u16s.

My "issue" with these "drag queens" etc is why do they always feel the need to be around "kids"?

Storytelling hour over here in schools and libraires.

I dont think its anything "physical".

I think its a form of indoctrinatation. If its not why aint Joe Bloggs from Bridge St invited in to read stories?

BoroRedKen

"Bigot" "bet you have laughed at Lilly Savage" "Dame Edna".

Yes.

But show me them reading "My Dad Has a Baby in his Belly" to a load of kids then i will shut up....

Doyle1979

@BoroRedKen i don't have kids so I'm not too clued up on what they're taught tbh.

It won't get to that point. There's ways of verifying age without providing names. It won't totally stop them accessing it but the next generation won't be born with it accepted for them so won't use it.
