Quote from: BoroRedKen on November 10, 2024, 01:11:25 PMMy bro lost his leg in a motorbike accident years later.

Used to go on the beach with him and even then he made me look daft! Shot like a rocket. And watching a fella with 1 false leg doing tekkers was unbelievable.

One of your brothers claimed he played for South Bank in the Northern League was this true Ken ?

2 brothers both played footy to a half decent level.

CO was better than CH. If you are asking about CH then yes. CH was probs more of a runner.

Its hard when your siblings all bar 1 are at least 15 yr older than you to remember stuff.

Honest enough to say that between 11 to 15 i was not the easiest of children to have around so i was "avoided".

But yes both brothers were decent sportsmen.
👍

I have had a million and 1 barneys with my bros over the years but the 1 on here i actually regret.

I feel a bit cowardly over it tbh.

Should of done it face2face. I feel i took an unhappy childhood and used here to vent finally and that was wrong.

All i wanted then was a big brother to even just put an arm round me and tell me things where going to be ok.
The 1 brother who knew what it was like to lose your wife.

But in 2 years on here he never even sent me a single PM let alone even a phone call/text.

5 surviving siblings.
And not 1 has so much as picked up a phone.

But i accept responsibility.

Borope.

You know what i "believe".

Will i ever find out the truth?

Quote from: erimus74 on November 10, 2024, 12:18:08 PMGoalkeeper came across from Australia under John Neals first season as manager, recommended by Graeme Souness who represented West Adelaide for a few games in the summer of 77
Unfortunately the keeper found the good, old English weather to cold for him & returned home.
Luckily another young Australian who had paid his own airfare from downunder a couple of years earlier & through sheer guts & determination was to make a massive impact that very season

Martyn Crook was actually born in the UK. Must have moved to Australia when he was pretty young if the weather here surprised him.
Died of a heart attack in his early 50s.

Quote from: BoroRedKen on November 10, 2024, 12:26:44 PMWhat year was the Darren Wood transfer Erimus?

1983 Ken

22/9/1983 - His final appearance was away to Fulham in a 2-1 defeat

Didn't Wood's sale lead to Big Mal resigning? With the quote that it would be better to be put out of our misery than die a slow death?

Maybe Ken. But I just think of him as a pacey right back with Terry Cochrane (or maybe Stephen Bell :)) in front of him. He was versatile though - a classy player.
