That was Tappers.

I suppose to lads of a certain vintage we all grew up together in that area so he was always "known".
He was fairly unoticable through most of the school years so he was just like everyone else.

About 14 he started to "change".

I remember one time, I was in Durham nick and Duffys cell was directly opposite mine, everyone was just returning to their cells from lunch, I just got into my cell and I heard this loud wail of, WHOS FUCKIN GOT IT!!!
My cellmate said, "quick, shut the fuckin door"
I looked out of the spy hole and seen Duffy storming up and down the landing,
Someone had been into his cell and nicked a load of his baccy that he was selling on the wing, within a few days someone received a severe beating, I'm sure it was another bloke from Boro, but can't remember his name.
