Boro 1 Norwich 0

Big Jack made two change to the team that drew 0-0 at Anfield seven days earlier
Alan Willey, who was on the bench for the Liverpool game, was handed the No9 shirt at home to Norwich City, replacing John Hickton's, who had started penultimate game at No9 v Liverpool.
Peter Brine replaced Alan Willey on the bench

What a time for Graeme Souness to open his account for the season with seven minutes remaining he scored the only goal of the game, putting the mighty Boro top of the 1st division
Standing in the holgate end as a 15 year old, along with our Kev, we thought we were invincible & would go onto win the title, great, great days

After 9 games our record:-
Won 5, drew 3 all goalless, our only defeat was away to Man Utd 2-0, scoring 6 goals & conceding 3

If only Jack......................................
