Lids, like to comment on this if I may.In my opinion, there's only The Little Fella who retains such everlasting love and appreciation from the fans aimed at former players.

This really encapsulates how Big John is seen by Boro fans of that generation. To be remembered still some 40 odd years after he stopped playing for us is really remarkable.

I'm very lucky that my first ever season was 1973/74 and I got to see Big John play many times.
We used to call Mark Viduka 'Hickton-esque'.
