There was no growth in the UK economy in July, official figures show.

It follows a month of no growth at all in June, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

GDP - the measure of everything produced in the UK - flatlined in the weeks following the election of the Labour government.

Among the G7 group of industrialised nations, the UK had the highest growth rate for the first six months of 2024.

But, but, but your sarcastic response is actually true.

The whole country needs a reset - economy, NHS, prisons, immigration, police, education - becasue we have had 14 years of Tory rule but the most damaging has been the absolute shit show they produced from Johnson onwards, including crashing the economy with Liz Truss and her Abacus Gang.

Kippers

Labour voters voted to end austerity and are actually going to get more austerity.

Did we though ?

I voted for Labour because I believe that in the long run we needed a government that wasn't lurching from one disaster to another.

And don't confuse the pensioner payment situation with being a disaster, it is a decision based on the fact we have big black holes in the coffers............whether I agree with them doing it is another thing.

There is no 'black hole' in the coffers and we are no worse off than other countries regarding national debt. Ask yourself this ...  who do we owe money too ???

Good point, we should just point that out to Keir and the government.

'Who do we owe this money too Kier ?'

'Not sure Kidda'

'Thought so, just forget about it then'

What's worse is some half baked clowns believe it's rain.
