Hooked a grouper in Florida about 45 mins of my skinny arse reeling in what felt like a boulder.  Got it to the surface to catch a glimpse and the fooker got off.

When I worked for Connexions there used to be a youth programme at Hartlepool that had a narrow boat to go up the Tees and a fishing boat to go out of Hartlepool Marina.  I took the young offenders on these on several occasions and had some great days off Hartlepool for Mackerel with them.

Knowing I loved fishing, my line manager thought I was just having a jolly and was wondering what the young people were getting out of it and insisted on attending.  She was seasick before we got out of the harbour walls and nearly cried when I told her we were out for four hours.  The lad in charge of the boat asked if I wanted to take her back and I said "No, letter her suffer".

She never asked to come out again.
