Too Much Perspective

Just rescued some mustard from my kitchen bin. My missus will throw out half a jar of sauce, Branston pickle or whatever if it's been in the fridge a while cos it says on the jar 'consume within 8 weeks'.
I say that's daft and as long as it tastes normal and there's no mould on it, it's still good. Am I reasonable, or a scruffy cunt?

It's only advertised to consume in that time then it starts degrading

It's absolutely fine to eat.  Trick is to use a clean spoon each time you use it so you don't leave behind other stuff (eg bits of bread, butter etc) that will mould quickly.  The kids keep fucking up jam and marmalade by not doing that.   :rav:

I can't remember ever throwing half a jar of pickle/mustard/piccalilli etc into the bin, some have probably made it to a year. 😜

Keep it til it's empty, just smell it first 😂

I have mustard, pickle etc at least 2 years old that I dip into every now and then....maybe I'm a minger anorl?...If it smells right, looks right, tastes right...then its right in my eyes
