Just reading Erimus's post got me thinking about my best time as a Boro fan. Mine was 96/97 for football and personal reasons ( and I go back to 1970 for my first match),what a rollercoaster of a time that was. Camping out in the concourse for cup tickets and watching hale bop come and go. Wembley twice, relegation, the three points fiasco and some fun times in the town socially. :leo3:

The Merson promotion season for me.

Remember we needed to score 6 at home to someone (Bury? Swindon?) to go top... chants of "we want 6" from the crowd and Marco branca duly obliged with an overhead kick in the last few minutes.

Think Maddo got a brace too!

It was Swindon and the bookies were giving 66-1 for us to win 6-0, everyone in the stadium but me put a quid on it. :rav:  :unbelievable:

The John Neal era by a mile. Our team under Big Jack was going stale yet within a year of Neal taking over we had an influx of home grown talent breathing a new life into the club. And even though the majority of them were only a year or two older than me, I still regarded them as genuine heroes.
So I'll forever treasure watching the likes of; Ian Bailey, David Hodgson, Mark Proctor & Craig Johnston (home-grownish) blend seamlessly with the established stars we had left post-Souness.

Just a pity a certain FA Cup quarter final against Wolves sparked a 5 & 1/2 year catastrophe.

The Robson era - a wild ride looking back at it.  The players we had, promotion, the cup finals... oof.

96-06 fucking quality.

Home ... both comebacks in Europe
Away ... Rome or the little fella scoring two
Headers at owld Trafford

Favourite ever has to be the carling cup win. Would have given up my soul for Juninho to score when he was bearing down on goal

Too Much Perspective

Personally, the early noughties for me. Was living away, so didn't get to many games which made it more special. Town was still buzzing - Arena, Blaises etc so there was usually a decent night out on the cards as well.
Highlights were the boxing day against Man utd. Also I remember a nil nil draw against Liverpool. Always remember Steven Gerard in that game. In the flesh, I've never seen one man dominate and try to grab hold of a game like that. Ugo got sent off for taking him down I think.

The two seasons in Europe.

Went to as many as I could, was in the middle of a divorce so spent thousands on plastic because I knew it would never happen again.
