Boro started season 1979-80 by putting in an away excellent performance with a fantastic 3-1 in the capital

Spurs were no match for the mighty Boro as we ran out comfortable winners
Goals from David Armstrong, Micky Burns, what a snip he was at £70k & Bosco Jankovic, who doubled his Boro career account, both his goals away from home mind
Ironically, the 1st time we played on this day as a league club was back in 1951 when we beat Spurs 2-1 at Ayresome Park.
