Ryan Giles - a tenuous link

Talk surrounding Ryan Giles seems to have fallen flat.. we wanted to buy him, he wanted to come and perhaps most importantly.. his club wanted to sell him.

We've had talk surrounding Tommy Conway which hasn't been dismissed plus he's a player that fits our profile. I like to have a look at past squad numbers to see where they might fit or if there is a squad number that is available in our current squad. Players have preferences and superstitions and sometimes can be the difference between a player joining a club or not. 15 and 37 for Bristol previously as well as 9 and 19 for Scotland.
29 is still available and wouldn't be the worst choice imo. Mbappe wore it at Monaco and PSG for a few seasons..
Tommy Conway turns 22 in a weeks time so will be one of our 25 over 21 players in our squad.

Still space for one more.. a certain Mr Ryan Giles perhaps? Wore the 3 when he was at boro, wore the 3 at Hull.. I don't think he takes the number 3 off RVDB.. Maldini wore the 3.

But what of his INSTAGRAM RyanGiles17 I'm not sure if it's always been that.. but why the number 17? We have the number 17 free after parting company with Paddy McNair.

So.. yeah.. I guess that it is it. I think we're signing Ryan Giles because of his Instagram handle.

I like Engel think he's a canny lad.. plus George McCormick has been getting a bit of game time in pre season.

It's just a daft laugh really.. Giles played for us and then was linked with us.. might be a bit of lazy journalism.. maybe there's something in it?

Conway ticks a lot of boxes for us.. he fits our style and Carrick said he thought we would be brining another striker in?

Finch is really young and just back from injury.. Latte was immense when he played.. hopefully he can stay injury free and Coburn is solid.. he'll be looking to really kick on this season.. again hampered by injury.
