I'm a Southgate fan but I can't defend that performance.

It was lethargic and the players didn't look like they knew what they should be doing. We have Bellingham, Foden, Kane, Saka as our front 4 and apart from the odd glimpse from Foden, they all looked like they had been asked to play a way they never have before. Rice was atrocious.

Drop Bellingham into TAA's role, let Foden be the number 10 or whatever the fuck they call it and batter Slovenia from the start.

Also Tripper at left back is just wrong.

Apart from that I think we're looking good to win it.

Another manager who picks what he believes are his best players and shoehorns them into the team.

Keep hearing about what riches we have in midfield but we are still experimenting with a converted defender in there !!

Kane is at the part of his career when he aint gonna charge about for 90 mins but give him a chance and he is likely to take it , play to his strengths and keep him in and around the box ( not ours )

Pick the BEST team square pegs in square holes !! And let the midfield of the leash .

Might not win the Euro's but go down fighting and at least the fans will back the team.

I usually disregard the comments of celebrity pundit Micah Richards but he was spot on with his after match summary - highlighted even greater after watching more pace/guile and movement in the first 15 minutes-or-so of the Italy/Spain game than we've managed to muster in both our matches put together.

We play like robots ,"must do as Im told "  definitely over coached.
You obviously need a plan and some organisation but should also be free to think on your feet.
Our opposition generally know what we will do in any given situation and simply counteract it.

You've got Mainoo, Gallagher and Wharton on the bench and you play Trent who doesn't do much more than play cross friend passes.
He's not good enough to be in midfield, and he's not good enough to play at RB.

Drop Foden, he is a fish out of water at international level. He can't replicate the city for because city have word class players all over the pitch, England doesn't.

I decided to give it a go & watch the Denmark game, we were awful from start to finish, we'll get out the group but not good enough against the Germans, Fench, Dutch, Spain etc

They go on about Bellingham, who had one decent run then played the ball to far with the move slowing down, best player in the world, not a chance

We could even scrape through the next round if we're lucky enough to play Scotland they're probably worse than us
