Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.

This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars.

Personally I thought it was great when Him & WikiLeaks exposed ground-breaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions .


What I thought was revolting from him & WikiLeaks was when they put the names , addresses , work places of people who had simply joined the BNP Party, Many of them people were threatened, had houses attacked, got the sack, all for being a member of the BNP who wanted an end to mass uncontrolled immigration. Fast forward 20 years or what ever all the other parties are bleating on about doing something about mass uncontrolled immigration. For that him and the WikiLeaks pavement stains behind that leak can boil in piss as far as I am concerned.

I recently done a visa application.

And the questions get asked. Spent and current convictions. There was a whole list of convictions that would result in visa getting knocked back.

So they let him enter the country, go through customs then at the end of his 1st speech 9 cops (5 in plain clothes) nick him as soon as he is outside.

He had a shoe cam so there is footage of a cop telling him that the warrant was signed by the head of Canadian border security!
