Love the fella

27th February 1982- Malcolm Allison handed Gary the No12 his Boro debut away to Bolton when he replaced Joe Bolton in the 2nd half in a 3-1 defeat
Gary scored 27 goals in 260 games & sadly due to his dynamic, never say die attitude on the pitch injuries finished his Boro career at the tender age of 26

A massive name in the legends of 86, a great Boro servant & an overall great guy

9th February 1985 - Started off his career when the late, great Willie Maddren handed Alan Kernaghan the No9 shirt at home to Notts County in a 1-0 home defeat in front of lowest ever attendance of 3,364 for a competitive

Throughout his Boro career Alan later jumped between CF & CB,  when Bruce changed him around, big part of our two promotions & between 1985/1990 he scored 19 goals, including an away hat trick at Blackburn, in 250 games, had the honour of representing the mighty Boro in our first ever cup final apprearence at wembley

He's remembered for allegedly going to buy some beers during the epic Wolves game, unavailable at the time through injury, when we gained promotion to the PL, he found it to hard to watch the game

He was later sold to Man City for over £1m

Bosco, he was that good, to us older fans will remember when the holgate named a song after him

John Neal signed Bosco & handed him the No12 shirt away to Bristol City on the 17th March 1979 in a 1-1 draw, he went onto score 19 goals in 62 games over 2 seasons

Our final home game of the 1980/81 season we played Championship chasers Ipswich Town who needed to win to put pressure on Arsenal who were 4 points in front of Ipswich with more game to play, at HT Aston Villa were losing at Arsenal while Ipswich were winning at Ayresome Park, one point stood between both teams
At the end of the game Bosco scored his final goals for the mighty Boro, when scoring a brace & the title chase was over, although Villa lost at Arsenal Ipswich couldn't catch them
Some Villa fans voted Bosco as there player of the season

Boro offered Bosco a new contract at the end of the season but he turned the offer down wanting to return home to continue his career in law & sadly in 1993 he passed away at the age of 42
