Emerson was unreal.. THAT season he showed phenomenal skills. Bobby Robson was fuming over not being able to take him to Barcelona! I honestly think he was genuinely world class . Defensive vs Roy Keane.. went toe to toe without flinching.. he was closer to a Viera type of player.. more Zidane than Viera.

He had a bit of the Ronaldinho magic.. you know players who are just effortless. A Brazilian beast. His injury here was underplayed I think. Gawd knows what his social life was like.. made some strange choices after us. Wish we had went back in for him.

I honestly feel had that side stayed up we would have beat the lot the next year , our 3 targets in summer were Carlos <cafu, batistuta .....& that side were done by too many games at end of season , they were goosed !
