Absolutely love The Strolling Bones, still the best band i've seen live but this definitely looks like the walking dead. I'd still go and watch them tho.

BoroRedKen

Never really got into the Stones. 1 or 2 tracks maybe.

I saw a recent vid of Rod Stewart singing. Now he does sound and look a bit ridiculous tbh.
Maybe Rod The Mod should get that guy from Pimlico Plumbers to be a body double.

The Bekind mob in the USA kind of backed the Stones in to a corner over the song Brown Sugar did they not? And if im not mistaken did MJ buckle under the pressure and drop it from live sets over there?.

That clip is from the other day in Texas MJ 80, KR 80 RW the baby 76  :alf: Btw have you seen Keith Richards arthritic hands, i'm surprised he can pick a guitar up nevermind play it.

"Ladies and Gentlemen . . . The Rolling Stones"

Say what you want about Jagger, yeah he's a p*#@k, c*"'t, whatever.

Greatest frontman ever.

First gig they played out of London was in the Boro too.

Billy Whyman, shell suited up to f@#k

If you don't like Rock n Roll get a sh*t job, you know the one we all prostitute ourselves for.

Best job in the world, and they've done it for a long time.

I was actually at this gig, watch how he just has Welch in the palm of his hand.

The women f"*'in love him

I know it's only Rock N Roll, but I like it

Am I jealous of him . . ?

I've seen them a couple of times and they were great each time.

I can remember being surprised how fit Jagger is - constantly sprinting about the big stage while singing and never out breathe.  Impressive stuff for anyone but for an old gadgie quite amazing really.

AtomicDog

Agree totally, but go back to when they were young yeah, people only see them now as old men, past it.

Always remember a quote by Keith Richards (when THEY were young, played in like old cinema's)

"Yeah the usher's use to go mad, said the seats were always soaking wet, when the girl's left"

Maybe people will read this thread, might mean nothing, might not like music.

But there's no denying they are a fantastic band.

I got into them as a mates older brother loved them, remember Still life, say as an instance, played it all the time.

Never appealed to me at all, I liked two tone music.

But you start to listen, understand music yeah, how it makes people feel?

First time I seen em was the Voodoo Lounge tour Wembley.

The Black Crowes support them, we missed them cos it was pissing down ( we were in a boozer, just outside)

When we went in as mad as it was it stopped raining.

I'll never forget Charlie's syncopated beat . . .

Then he strutted on, big white crombie, pulled a harmonica out of the inside pocket and said

"I'M GONNA TELL YA  HOW IT'S GONNA BE!"

100,000 people in the palm of his hand.

The rush of the crowd was immense, something I'll never forget.

My parents used to play their stuff when I was growing up so I knew them pretty well and always liked them.  When I was in my teens I had a mod phase when I also went back to check out some of their early blues stuff.

The two times I saw them, about 20 years ago, Van Morrisson and Metallica shared the bill.  Slightly different vibes heh.

AtomicDog

Yes, get that totally but the only point I try to make in My posts about music is it captivates people. You, your parents whoever.

It's like people say Hemdrix is the greatest guitarist, Prince being another yeah?

They're not gifted they've done what they did through sheer determination, practice, it's not a gift.

people think there's this "Magic" and it's not, it's sheer determination, Steve Jones, John Frusciante for instance.

A lot of band's eke a living, who are sh"t, it's like the first album, say sh*t or bust, it drives them.

But many become complacent, drugs, money whatever, lose the drive.

The only thing you can't replicate is the voice, goes without saying.

I remember seeing Oasis in the Arena, singing slide away, attitude, voice, looked good.

But they turned to sh*t "the cat sat on the mat"

That's why you can't say about The Smiths, it's the power of the lyrics, which it is, reaches people.

Now imagine how I feel, when Mrs D watches X factor, sees some white kid, from Barnsley singing this?

Maybe I'm looking too deep eh?

I seen them at Roundhay park in 1982, 120,000 there. Was an amazing day, even The J Geils Band & Joe Jackson supporting were good. Only downside was i blew my scrappy Ford Cortinas engine on the way home  :alf:

fukyu

The most overrated frontman ever.I wouldn't cross the road to watch the scrotum faced old wanker. They're their own shit  tribute band. :wankers:

Johnny Thunder

I never got away with the Stones either.

And although not really a fan, I would say Freddie is the best frontman ever.

Geoff_B

I seen them at Glasto 2013
