A day Boro fans around the world thought we would never see, sadly many didn't

All the great players/teams we've had in our history, for whatever reason just couldn't get the Boro to Wembley, then on this day, 25th March 1990,  our all dreams came true when the Boro created history & making our first ever appearance in cup final at Wembley

All the "if only's' & 'near misses' throughout our history, were put to one side as we finally woke up on the Sunday morning knowing something special as a Boro fan is here

Boro's route to the final

Round one  - Port Vale 3-1 at home, Bernie Slaven scored a brace & one from Simon Coleman
Round two - Sheff Weds 4-1 at home, that man again Bernie grabbing a hat trick & one from Alan Kernaghan
Semi final - Newcastle were beating 1-0 at home Colin Cooper scoring the only goal
Northern area final - Aston Villa were beaten in both legs

Chelsea fans tried to spoil the big day, they didn't, we actually lost the game itself, but the fans made it a special Boro day

The team that took to the field for that historic game was led out out by our iconic captain, Tony Mowbray

Paul Kerr - Who, IMHO, Colin Todd should have given him at least 15 minutes to see if he could conjure up something special
