Shocking to wake up and read about such a killing spree.

I don't have answers to these nutcases other than guns over the counter is a crazy policy that needs amending.

You still need to go through a Federal background check at the time of sale.  It's not as simple as putting it in your trolley and ringing it up on the self check out.

If you are convicted with any felony crime you are banned from owning or purchasing guns ever again.  You get caught with one and no fucking around straight to jail.

Criminals can get guns and do criminal things anywhere on the planet.

I personally own some guns, but they stay in a locked gun safe.  I used to do a lot of clay pigeon shooting but not they pretty much sit doing nothing.

I didn't know all that to be fair....

I must point out ifi lived over in the USA - I suppose I would have them for peace of mind.

I just think the more of them about is why you lot over there have more shootings and mass killings.

It is not easy getting a gun over here and you very rarely if at all get away with a shooting.Bar the odd one or two you hear and read about.

The numbers would be higher on an open gun type policy.

There are some very odd lunatics over here for sure can't deny that.

A bloke that lived within 2 miles of my house (I live out of town, in the country). Died a few years ago of cancer in his 60s, he literally lived off the land, living in a teepee.  Always in the news for poaching frogs, gators, deer, wild boar etc

The Teepee is still there now, I guess his family if any, didnt want to move in.

There are shootings where I live quite often but mostly South of the tracks.   Gang or drug related.  You don't even hear about them anymore as they are that common, which is very weird

There's a few on here could fall into that category too.

They are unnecessary. There is no logical reason for them. I want to go hunting is not a good reason. I like guns is not a good reason. I want to make sure my house is safe is not a good reason.  I want to murder people in a bowling alley is not a good reason.

I want to go hunting is not a good reason.

There is a massive difference in lifestyle in that department.  Duck, Goose, Deer hunting is a way of life around here.

Also I know 2 people personally that own shotguns and go pheasant hunting in the UK and both live in Boro.

why not give everyone a gun that shoots 100 bullets a minute. Surely that would make everyone safe.

Nice derailing attempt.

But to fire 100 bullets per minute with a gun bought legally you would have to pull the trigger 100 times as Fully Automatic Rifles are not legal.

not derailing anything. There is zero need for guns outside of the military and some would say the police.

As a nature lover, I'm not into the hunter-gatherer type lifestyle.  I can however buy into it for control purposes plus I eat meat so I'm not one to offer lectures on that kind of thing.

I'm just bewildered as to why the Yanks have 'gun shops' and then not expect them to end up in the wrong hands resulting in gun shooting sprees.
