He had an excellent game

erimus74

A bit eratic with the header when booked but his game since the Sheff Wed 1st half has been remarkable

He's got better every game since getting back in the side. Gets caught out of position occasionally but thats down to how Carrick prefers his full-backs to play. Would be a far more effective player as a wing-back, but thats his managers call.

Had a good game today, so did Tommy Smith. Coburn gets a bit of a pass because he's young and one of our own, but I honestly don't think he's good enough for where we are looking at. Should have had 1 goal at the very least today.

I disagree on Coburn, give him this season before discounting him.

Coburn still learning, against big physical defendwrs, he'll learn, still a year or so from being a very good championship syriker, IMHO mind

Tell you what Engel has great technique when striking the ball, head over the ball & smack its, did a cracking piledriver v Sunderland when the ball rebounded with Fry crossing for Greenwood to score the opening goal & today, long range grasscutter effort that the keeper did well to save

Yes good technical skill

Hes certainly winning fans over

Agreed. If you're playing a 4-2-3-1 formation your centre-forward needs to be pretty exceptional. Ours isn't. Although to be fair to Coburn, although he missed two relatively easy chances he's at least getting in the right positions. A lone strikers role never usually works for us.
