2nd of October John Neal paid Cardiff City £72k for the signature of MB & what a signing he turned out to be

5 days later on the 7th October Micky Burns, wearing the No10 shirt, made his debut at Old Trafford where he replaced Dave Hodgson, who was dropped down to subs bench, Micky Burns became our 524th registered player, the 2nd team change in the line up was Ian Bailey, wearing the No3 shirt, replacing Peter Johnson

8 games in to the new season & John Neal was struggling to turn a round a difficult start to his 2nd season as manager, with one win to show, which was our 2nd game of the season away to Birmingham

Boro lost this game 3-2, with David Mills scoring our 1st goal, MB netting the 2nd & became the 92nd different Boro player to score on their debut

One win out of 9 now, drawing 2 & losing 6, goals scored 11, against 17

Micky Burns turned out to be a top, top striker for the Boro, in over 3 seasons he scored 24 goals in 67 games
