Is it me who always loses a fight with a Mango? Peeling off the skin, juice all down the front of my shirt. Trying to  avoid the stone that makes up 75% of the fruit, more juice down the front. Then cutting bits off.


Great taste but what a waste of time. And a changed shirt.

my mam had no interest in music. At her funeral they said she loved listening to Jim Reeves, I thought I was at the wrong place.

My mam loved Jim Reeves, NKC, Glenn Miller, Perry Como etc, still listen to her type of music to this day, our dad on the otherhand, although so grateful he got me & my younger brother in to the Boro, but James Last 😳

evidently it was my sister who told the priest. But if I was to agree I would say the same as you.  We had one if those big wooden record players and quite a few 33rpm.

My mum had no sense of humour, just a hard little woman who would knife anyone who hurt us.

I can remember being in a cafe in Golders Green, if any of the lads remember Manor House Hospital. Anyway this woman put a used napkin on the table beside us, big mistake. She asked her to move it, received a bit of lip, bigger mistake. The woman ran out of the cafe.

My parent must give yours a run for their money in the music stakes. My old fella loved both kinds of music...Country & Western. My Mam was all about Iris Williams, Neil Diamond, Nana Mouskouri & bloody Richard Clayderman.  It all left my ears bleeding.
