Boro flashback

2nd October1973 we became clear leaders of the 2nd division

When the mighty Boro, with time running out, came from behind to beat Orient 3-2 at Ayresome Park, in front of our biggest attendance of the season, 22,164, 5,000 on top of previous highest v Bristol City who we played our previous home game to go joint top of the 2nd division

Alan Foggon opened the scoring & a brace from John Hickton, who scored his final Boro hat trick at home to Orient last season, made sure the points stayed on Teesside

Only Orient & Fulham scored 2 goals past us at Ayresome Park that season, 4 other teams managed a single goal each

Boro have fought off a few challengers to get to lead the division, lets hope, unlike previous Boro managers, we are they to stay
