Uncle Jim was a tv god. Fortunately I never got my wish to meet Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, but fuck me, it was probably a lucky escape.

Thinking back in the days before my time, surely a lot of these celebs were at it with young'uns. Elvis and Priscilla. Jerry Lee Lewis. Jimmy Page. David Bowie. Iggy Pop.

Then thinking about songs, Gary Puckett and the union gap - Young Girl
Drifters - Kissin in the back row of the movies.

The lyrics in those songs tell a story of men messing about with minors.

Maybe it was a culture between celebs in the 60s/70s/80s.

I was staying in the Holiday Inn Gateshead after a conference. As we were leaving Saville was sat beside reception, I am not joking in that gold suit. He had a lad sat with him aged I would guess l6.

For whatever reason Lewis and Pressley did not break the law back then. 1 of the few changes to most societies that im all in favour of.

Saville. You have to consider the time. If it was now it would be all over like Brand, Hall and Harris etc.

No internet. No social media. Not a camera/video in everybody's pocket/handbag.

Remember also the dead cant speak. So back then, without victims having the courage to come forward, it was all supposition and rumours by word of mouth.
It must of been easy to cover up or shut up people. Like they did with John Lydon.

Saville at the time was the face of the UK entertainment industry.
Can you imagine the size of his public profile if it was now?
