To see the mighty Boro, this day 22nd September, at home to Man Utd in our relegation season under Bobby Murdoch, who only 8 years earlier made Bobby Murdoch was making his Boro debut

Young Billy Askew, a younger version of Billy Ashcroft, made his 1st appearence of the season at No11 was fouled by Man Utd keeper Gary Bailey, got up,dusted himself down picked, the ball up & good on him took the responsibility in only his 7th appearance for the Boro, unfortunatly Gary Bailey judged the right way to dive & saved the spot kick, a lot more experienced players in the team who could have taken the spot kick

This was the highlight of the game for us as we stumbled to a 2-0 defeat & one win out of the 1st 6 games had us looking up from the bottom of the 1st divison, falling to our 2nd home defeat of the season
