Last night/Early hours

I lost 1 of my cats, Jack, to diabetes.

Jack had been diabetic for 5 years and last night he went hypoglycaemic and did not survive.

Since Carmens passing my 2 cats have been a comfort to me.
To lose Jack has shattered what bit of heart i had.

It cost me 70 quid in Taxis (My vets use a place in Stockton for out of hours) and 426.50 quid for him to be put to sleep.

This is outrageous. Praying on people at their most vulnerable point.

I welcome an investigation into these costs. It needs capping.

Mind you there are people like Sexpom who work in the vet medicine business so that says it all....

I agree with vets bills, particularly the dental stuff, rip off. Sorry to hear  about Jack, Kenny. Cats can be right funny buggers. Our cat has nothing to do with me. Loves the wife tho and follows her all over. Will still miss the little get like mad when he passes.

Our last Bullie had an op for a luxating patella, had to go to a specialist in Bishop Auckland (like that supervet)

Thank f**k she was insured.

We thought she was only sent there cos our vet (at the time) saw she was insured. And yes we've been to nearly every vet in Teesside.

Wilton house in Guisborough and Clevedale in Stokesley are the one's Mrs D would recommend

Knowing cats though (used to have 2 Siamese) another one will turn up at the door looking all forlorn and you wont be able to resist

Vet bills though are an absolute outrage that does indeed need looking into.

The problem stems from 3 big vet companies that have been buying up the independents and between them racking up the prices.

Drug companies join in and bang the prices up on stuff that you can only buy from guess who?

Yeah the vets.

I added up how much Vets charged me for Indy and it came to £18K. Worth every penny of his 13 years but I can see the progression of costs rising.

Thanks Ural. Just before Jack (9/10 yrs old) there was a couple leaving who had just lost their dog.

The cash made from them 2 alone is over a grand.

I still have Willy Cat (17 years old) but i already have my eye on a kitten from the local rescue place.

As for vets, supermarkets etc they all need investigating. Everything has gone up about 50% in the last couple of years except wages.

Dont do things for "glory" Dog. I have a heart. Granted its shattered at the mo but i still care about most people.

And i know what being homeless is like for ANYBODY. My mam always taught me giving me 1 extra plate of grub wont make you hungrier. Give anybody a "feed" at least.
