Of our best ever signings scored his 1st ever league goal on this day away at Swindon in a 2nd division game Boro won 3-1

Colin Todd paid Oxford, who were Swindon Towns rivals, £325k for his signature & what a player he turned out to be, over 10 years service & the best compliment I can give Robbie is when Robbo came & he was allowed, more or less, how much he wanted to spend & who to buy, Robbo just couldnt replace Mustoe, who was one of the 1st names on the teamsheet

I was at the Swundon game when Mustoe scored his 1st away league goal, I was at the Trannere away league cup game, 2 weeks earlier, when Mustoe scored his 1st ever Boro goal, Bernie scored a brace that day as Boro ran out 3-1 winners

Every team needs a Robbie Mustoe to do the hard graft that allows others to win games.

Made his debut in the same game as John Hendrie & John Wark

Both Hendrie & Mustoe were outstanding signings from Toddy

When the Oxford representive informed Robbie theyd accepted an offer from Middlesbrough he had no idea were we actually were situated in the UK & had to look us up on the map, he certainly knew everything about the town & club when he left, he even felt under threat when Robbo 1st arrived, thinking he'll take his position & become a bit part player, he couldnt have been more wrong

A Mustoe or a Boateng would transform our current side.
