A friend of ours has had a small dog attacked twice by the same dog. The police and the owner are not interested.

It's traumatic when your dog is attacked. When I walk Reg I always carry a 4ft blackthorn staff with me. I've only had to use it once, on three dogs that all went for Reg, and then me.
It proved to be very effective.

Family member has an English bulldog - he's a soft as shite but people fear the jaw. Don't like any breed that is for fighting onlky or can't breathe properly. Crossbreeds everyday of the week...same applies to humans but just don't tell youknowwho!

It's the breeders/owners that need putting down.

As someone who's owned Bull Terrier's all their life I can't agree with banning Bull breed's.

Considering they were bred and were the ultimate fighting dog (Think the great white of the dog world) but that was years ago, nothing could be further from the truth with the Dog. Don't get Me wrong I know a lot of people who work in rescue that get them in, in the wrong hand's they can be leathal, but again it's bad ownership, the dog never sets out to be like that.

Some of the cases they get are heartbreaking like when they've been used as bait, fighting dog's.

There are far more evil people in this world than there are dog's, that's a fact.

Ironically mine have never took any notice of me, kinda select deafness, Mrs D it's another matter-the dog's behaviour, not her's 

Let's face it nothing in life ife worth having is easy, so I guess I just have to put up with being 'owned' by a Bully
She's worth every moment though, wouldn't change it for the world . . .

I mainly agree with this. However, some breeds such as these Bully's are constantly attacking as morons buy em. XL Bully's do need banning as you can't vet everyone who buys one and with even decent owners they still seem to be attacking people and kids. And for me, that's where the banning line needs to be drawn.

In my opinion, as soon as a dog fatally wounds another dog, it needs putting down not just muzzillng as next time it could be a child in the home or if the dog escaped it could attack a kid. Then the owners need putting down too for raising a dog in that way.
