100% ⬆️

Thing is he doesn't seem the type , not sure if the club are forcing his hand to raise cash, hopefully for purchasing 1 or 2 players

I thought something was up, an injury that wouldn't allow him the to train, unless I've missed them I've not seen any pictures of him at the training ground, even just walking along with his teammates etc

Sad if true, as I genually believe he wants to stay here

Mike Peeler

With regard to Akpom's situation, someone has to blink first if things have stalled. This little set to will sort things out one way or another. He probably wants big bucks that Boro cant match or a move if a club comes in or to go free next year. He will be wanting what it costs to replace him but he has only done it for one year so it's a risk.

He has gone for me which will hurt the Ra Ra's. Fuck him if he doesn't want to be here. Unless cock sucking is your thing. :rav:

I have said its a big season for both Akpom & Carrick

Akpom is in a dilema, he's never had a season like the last, seemed up to the Coventry playoff semi final 1st leg, everything he touched turned to gold, it deserted him twice in the 1st leg, who's to say, he could get his big money transfer then revert back to how he was before his scoring sensation, new club, new surrounding, like starting all over again to reprove yourself, I'm not saying he'll be sensation again if he stays but, IMHO, he's adored by the fans here, the club want him to stay, he comes across as he generally enjoys it at the Boro & he'll be on decent money, if things go well next season then he'll be in a really good position to name his price, extend his contract

Carrick came in & done an unbelievable job, I had no concerns during the summer that he would jump ship, he didnt come across as that type of person & knew in his own mind he's not really done anything, he took over the Boro who were 3rd bottom but we had a decent team that were managed badly, for me, getting us to play nice football & score goals, he has to prove himself all over again, not forgetting Woodgate who is as important in his role

Mike Peeler

All that you say is very true Erimus but the important thing is for some reason he has yet to sign an extension deal which many believe and I believe is on the table. So until he signs it the are flaws in what you or others are saying he loves the club and wants to be here.

The is something a miss that he has not yet signed, more than likely 'money' from both sides

My opinion, no offers have come in for him and he is holding out until one does. If a prem team comes in for him he will be off, that I have no doubt. Nobody can blame him for wanting to play in the prem, especially at his age, but facts are it isn't doing Boro any good with their plans with or without him. I'm more disappointed about us missing out on Ramsey, as it stands.

As a club we have failed to build on last season. Signing promise over proven - and so much - will mean a challenging season. We are regressing.

A toothless strike force, defence short on numbers and quality is not a great prospect.

Could well make Carrick think twice about a long term future with us.

Agree Nosmo-king but Carrick still has to prove he can do it with teams that change clientele reguarly

Lets hope its not a repeat of last season when after promises from the previous manager we went from bad to worse

Im not having a dig at Carrick one bit, just saying it could be he started off well now people know how he sets out his teams will try & overcome that, he goes again next season to prove he does have whats needed & I wish him all the best, because unlike Wilder, I genually like Carrick & Woodgate too

Nosmo-King

Totally agree Erimus. Ultimately he can only work with the players at his disposal. And in my minds eye the real quality is in short supply.

In my minds eye, we are not giving him the resources.

IF the current squad we have is it, then Carrick in my opinion has been badly let down, and we will certainly be a lot weaker than last season. IF we had Archer Ramsey and Giles like last season, then you are top 6 pushing above. Lets see what we have when all windows are shut.

Francks left peg

My feeling is the club want rid to bring in some one with high potential or almost guaranteed to score goals. Akpom could be a one season wonder. Don't forget he's 28 and never done as well as he did last season.

Boropolis has been made to look a right cunt over this post about wages by Chuba himself

Surprised at you falling for this load of bollox Lids

Johnny Thunder

To be fair to Boropolis, he was just repeating what was said on the radio program or podcast or whatever the fuck it was. It was Maddo and the show host who released that 'information'.

I think Dury had the nod/okay from the club to mention it without reprisals.

Someone Otr nailed it when he said - he would not tell pork pies given how quickly Gibson/the club comes down on the 'local media' if they upset the applecart.

This one smacks of Buser/Scott doing it for his department and, the club. With a leak

That way it's not a direct fight between club and player publicly, and the club gets to see some public reaction to get a feel for things.
