Superb- absolutely superb series. Loved every minute of it. The twists and turns throughout meant some absorbing sessions time and again. Credit to both sides for producing such a test series filled with memories.

And what a way for Stuart Broad to bow out. Fantastic series.

I'd have more than settled for a 2-2 draw before the first ball was bowled back in June. But as the series progressed it became very apparent that Australia weren't the force I was expecting them to be. So in the end quite disappointed to see the Ashes heading back down under.

One things for certain, unless at least two top class front line seamers and a spinner can be unearthed in the next two & a half years who can master their favoured Kookaburra ball loving bouncy, clay wickets I'm afraid that little urn will be staying in HMP Australia for a few more years to come.

It will be some series over there, we've now got them on the ropes - they will do all they can to keep the urn, doctor the pitches in their favour the lot I agree our bowling area is a concern. So I think the toss is always fairly vital to us.

I think we will do them and if you are going to win the Urn the is no better place than Australia away they will fucking hate that.

The shit bit is its a nightmare trying to watch it when its played over there with the time difference :rav:

You need to get a bat and ball Ken - it's a wonderful sport during the summer and does fill some time both on the box and in person if you are lucky enough to be able to go.

Football is still my go-to sport but cricket is a very close second, especially the test arena stuff, even without bazball i still enjoyed the 5 day challenges on show.

It will be very interesting when we go to India for the test series in 2024.

For me the three best teams in the world on their own patch are us, India and the shackle draggers.

If the current aggressive style brings us a result in India, even a drawn series, then they have to sit up and take notice of how the approach to Test cricket needs to change to save this format. Bearing in mind that the reality is that they are the Superpower of world cricket.

I'm pretty certain after this series that the Aussies will be looking at our style of play and adopting some of the theories at the very least. Some of the cricket they played was turgid and you could see they were always thinking more about what we could do rather than what they could do to influence the game.

When you look back to the Ponting, Warne, mcGrath team..............no wonder Ponting was spitting blood in commentary at times !!

I have really tried but its the same as F1 to me just cannot get away with it.

I used think i disliked Rugby but i got into that.

I used to like F1 back in the day, Mansell, Senna etc

Now would rather switch over to the eastenders omnibus than watch the procession it has become.
