Bought some Barr Shandy at the shoo abd see the name has changed.

Imagine going into the pub and asking for a shandyade will look a right poofter.

I remember the old man used to get me a shandy when I did the cricket with him on a Saturday (NYSD) league during the summer in the cricket clubs I was about 12/13. It was always half booze out of the pump and half lemonade.

I used to buzz when I saw it coming out of the real 'beer pump' and started to feel like a bloke when supping it. it always felt better with one of them in front of me to drink as appose to a pint of coke with a straw in it.

Magnet or Tetley with lemonade was the best over lager and lemonade but it had to be a pint so i looked like a  'real bloke'

I've not supped it myself since I was a kid, as you say it's a split-arses drink really. You can still get it 'shandy' it is just some places actually stock shandy in bottles now.
