Thats thoughtful of you Ken & shows the respectful side of the person you are

I know how he feels. Lost my old man not too long after Eindhoven. Motivated me to join the army and get away from it all. Thoughts to coguer.

Apologies. That was not my intention.

When my parents passed my relationship with them was poor. So i did not feel overly remorseful.

But since Carmens passing i understand the pain and anguish when you lose somebody close to you.

Pain and anguish that nobody should feel.

No need Ken honest you've humbled me since you lost Carmen and your fighters attitude.

I look at grief totally different probably to most. Very gallows humour like. Lost a fair few mates in the army and taking the piss out of their death sounds Grimm but it really helps.

My mistake at Carmens changed the atmosphere. And she would of loved it to see me cocking it up and people giggling (some people!).

So i can see the merit in how Army lads and lasses deal with it.

The name dont ring a bell but its still sad to read.

It has similar ways to how Carmen passed but it was outside our home. At least, like Coq, i was there at the end.
I cannot and will not allow my dislike of OTR to affect how i feel when i read these things.

BoroRedKen

I feel ok to say how Carmen passed.

I had just got her in the car and we were double parked outside our home. I walked round to get in the drivers seat and as i sat Carmen said she could not breathe.

I looked at her and i knew she was gone but i dragged her out of the car into the road and started cpr whilst ringing 999.
An ambulance turned up followed by 2 more and a critical care specialist. The police arrived and closed the road.
They worked on her in the road for an hour. After about 40 mins 1 of my neighbours grabbed hold of me and took me to their house.
I knew when the care specialist and the effing plod walked down to me i knew what they were going to say.

Everytime i look out my window or walk out of my house i have to see the place all over again.

I am comforted by the fact i was with her till the end and she was not stuck in the hospital.

I am struggling with how "public" Carmens passing was but i hope she knew i was there.

So i hope Coq can take the same comfort that he was there at his father's passing.

Ken,so sorry to hear that. It is awful you have been through it.

BoroRedKen

Because the road was closed the FB detectives were spouting all sorts of theories i was told.

Drunk driver, the driver had a heart attack and Carmen had been attacked.

The dark side of social media.

RiversideRifle

Ken you are a warrior mate. I'd have loved someone like you in one of my rifle sections . Carmen will look down on you proud as punch mate.
