This day 1991 Moggas last Boro game as he leaves for pasture new

Our iconic captain Tony Mowbray played his final Boro league game away to Barnsley in a 2nd division 'bonfire night' fixture

8/9/1982 Bobby Murdoch handed Mogga the No7 shirt for his debut away to Newcastle United in a 1-1 draw, with orders to man mark Newcastles talisman No7 Kevin Keegan, he put in a great performance.
Registered No533, he went on to make 405 appearances, 5 as sub, scoring 28 goals & later became manager of the Boro.
I bet Keegan wishes he'd have gone shopping that evening!
Paul Ward also making his debut that evening

20/4/1984 - Mogga scored his 1st goal the following season, away to Carlisle in a 1-1 draw
14/2/1988 - A famous winning diving headed goal at home to Villa in the 1st ever live televised 2nd division fixture
30/9/1988 - Following voluntary liquidation in 1986 & leading the club through 2 divisions he scored Boro's 1st top flight goal since 1982 when Norwich City came to Ayresome Park

Lennie was the manager who accepted a £1m bid from Celtic, IIRC, he scored on his debut v Rangers too

27/7/1992 - Mogga later brought Celtic back to Ayresome Park for a well deserved testimonial

25/3/1990 - A true Boro legend who led the team out onto Wembley stadium for our first ever visit in front of the twin towers

A great captain, one of our best, IMHO

Sadly it wasn't to be a farewell win as the Boro suffered a 2-1 defeat with Slaven scoring our consolation goal
