Health workers and campaigners are furious with Labour's plans for "job coaches" to tour mental health wards trying to push seriously ill people into work.

Work and pension secretary Liz Kendall told BBC News she thought her plan would have "dramatic results". She said she wanted it rolled out as part of her drive to shrink Britain's annual disability and incapacity benefits bill.

"I want to see those costs coming down, because I want to have people able to work, to get on with their work, which is good for them," Kendall said on Wednesday. She indicated some people will lose their benefits, saying the "benefit system can have a real impact on whether you incentivise or disincentives work".   








Mean while

Labour have sparked controversy today over plans to expand the number of hotels migrants are housed in at the British Taxpayers' expense, something the party pledged to stop.

The Home Office are looking to reopen hotels previously used to house migrants or find new ones. Housing migrants currently costs £4 million a day.

Mental health seems to encompass "feelings" now.

Its no secret i have an issue. Yes its tiring sometimes and it makes me lock myself away.

But, despite the "kickings" i have had lately, i feel "better" than i have ever felt in the 15yrs or so since diagnosis.

I understand depression and anxiety. I have lost many a friend to suicide for eg. That is why i cant subscribe to this "Aww its just a bad day" for some people.

I listened to some horrific "stories" during my time as a Sam. When you listen to that person that has made the decision to end their life it stays with you despite all the training.

And the mental health "services" in England are failing at a rate of knots. I was told there was a 6 month wait for grief counselling. What is the point then?.

There is a difference between having MH issues and just being plain bonkers!
