There's momentum now amongst the fanbase. Reading views on other Boro boards there is an increasing number of posters openly questioning our tactics, tippy tappy rubbish, slow pace build up, team selections, schoolboy defending and spurning goal chances aplenty.

Also there is a growing resignation that Carrick is culpable. And, with his stated intent of continuing to play the way we do more and more feel he isn't the answer- more the problem.

Nie guys often aren't winners. Nice guys who won't be open to change are doomed.

Maybe if he is sacked he realises he can't operate being a one trick pony?

The club is bigger than any one person. And I can see Gibbo reluctantly coming to this conclusion.

Very sad I know. But we simply can't continue in this way.

I wasn't concerned that he would leave us in the summer, nor that he  was good enough to manage at a higher level but more than happy to see him keep learning at the Boro
I did post when he signed his contract it was our best signing of the summer, as I believed that to be the case, I honestly thought he was handicapped last season due to our awfully, horrendous injury list yet we finished the campaigne as the leagues form team giving me the confidence that, with keeping our better players & adding good players we will be a top 4 team

Wednesday night could be the tipping point, he has to be brave, he needs to use the big squad he keeps telling us we have
I keep saying, Gilbert should have been given more game timme when fit, he was unluckily dropped & sidelined, Dijksteel too.
McGree has to start every game, Clarke also, not sure about changing the keeper yet as the atmosphere could turn if it goes wrong & it could affect him

Managers have a shelf life, I posted yesterday that he has to reinvent himself
Did he get lucky when he first arrived or did he see something that he wants to bring to this team?
I know some of the players then were far superior to the present bunch back then, but the logic should be the same, we were so quick going forward teams didnt have chances to sit back & even though we conceded silly goals since he came through the door we outscored & out pressured our opposition, now we go a goal down & we more or less accept defeat

Big, big game & really hope he's up for it

I don't think the club or the vast majority of fans have given up on Carrick just yet, it's frustration at what should have been a good win. We had 3-4 very good opportunities to score, which we didn't convert, and this is the pattern of most of the games we have lost. This is what needs to be put under the microscope by the coaching team and a re-think about this playing out from the back at all times. I've noticed also, that our style of play can't be maintained for 90mins, the players aren't mentally capable of it, and as the game goes on we tail off, the brain is spent. We are only 4pts off the play-offs, and if we win our next two games, this thread will be forgotten, until we lose the next two after that  :rudi:

I dont buy into that we're struggling because Danks has gone, we're still creating chances, if he'd have been sat next to Carrick this season it doesn't mean Azaz & ELL would have 7 goals each so far

Maybe its a mental thing, so lack of confidence that in possession we'll put the ball the wrong side of the post, I dont know, what I do see is comfortable chances missed & poor defensive lapses punished

We all want Carrick to do well, his interviews following defeats against Watford & yesterday came across that he sounded broken, maybe he realises he has to change something starting midweek

The frustrating thig is this seasons Championship is very a very poor league, Bristol City were another awful team, probably the worst team here this season & in all honesty we should have blown them away in the first 15 minutes, they couldnt get out of our half uptil their gifted them a goal then our game plan suffered & the result was inevitable

If Carrick does get it right then I still think we'll have a cracking season, but that the million dollar question, If he gets it right

Biggest questions

Why do we have so many central defenders on the sick list - some for over a year?

Why dont our midfielders get into the box when our wingers put balls across?

ZiEgE

Why does he keep dropping our best player?

McGree is easily the best player on the squad.

Fry seems to each season miss a large chunk of games, this season he's just carried over from last season
Lenihan started a pre season gamecat Gateshead then not seen again yet Carrick continues to tell us they're working around the group

Agree on midfielders, with the pressing game we play you would have thought nore midfield breaks into the oppositions area

My biggest question has to be around McGtee, why does he get preferential treatment to consistently sit on the bench

Agree on McGree by far our best player

Azaz isn't good enough, the left back isn't good enough.

Burzog and Hamilton are not good enough.

It's not rocket science.

Mcgree and Gilbert in.

Oh and Lath need benching and play Forss up top.
