More hard work coming to fruitition from another Ben Houchen project, we're lucky to have such a pationate person fighting for the good of Teesside

It follows years of tireless work by Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen in championing the transformation of Teesside into a global leader for green energy.

Since taking office in 2017, Mayor Houchen has led efforts to attract substantial public & private investment to the region, laying the groundwork for a future defined by clean industries & sustainable development.

Net Zero Teesside is the latest milestone in a long-term strategy to revitalise the region's economy & create thousands of high-quality jobs for local people.

Mayor Houchen said: "This is a monumental day for Teesside and my proudest achievement since becoming Mayor, and I want to thank the Government for giving the green light to this project .

"Teesworks has already transformed the site, secured billions of pounds of private investment & created thousands of good quality local jobs including the SeAH monopile offshore wind factory, the largest single investment by a South Korean company in the UK

"This is a day that we look back on as the start of a golden generation for Teesside."

Over the next decade, projects on Teesworks will generate a significant boost in local revenues, with income from business rates expected to increase by £79 million annually once large-scale projects become fully operational.

Teesside is now at the forefront of clean energy, boasting projects including dynamic battery storage, sustainable aviation fuels, and hydrogen fuel production.

I retired from a company at seal sands that will benefit enormously from Ben Houchens hard work, great for my former work colleagues, my son in law, future workers there & Teesside too, massive news

Goodness if the jobs come off but When Steve Gibson ( Teesside's finest) walks away and calls them out something is wrong.

I'm sure the bore-me clowns will spin this into a loss somehow.

According to "the prisoner" another absolute bore... Houchen had nothing to do with it. Labour just magically came up with this massive plan on a whim... reality it's been planned for years. Remember no jobs on tees works according to otr... see turd burgler has gone quiet all of a sudden

I took this off Facebook but explains exactly what's happened at teesworks. OTR still trying to discredit Houchen (nothing to do with him) labour sorted it. Here's exactly what's happened which none of them know

The only reason government funds have been able to be released at this stage is that last month the main private investment companies finalized their own investments in the project. The date was set for September back in march, before Sunak declared a snap election, so whichever government was in charge had no bearing on the the finalized private investment deadline.                          The reason there was no backing for the project in 2015 was the plans and technology were not ready, so they were justifiably knocked back.    The previous government stalled on nothing, the project has been working behind the scenes and getting to a viable position in a timely manner for years.
