The mighty Boro, with time running out, came from behind to beat Orient 3-2 at Ayresome Park, in front of our biggest attendance of the season, 22,164
5,000 increase of our previous highest v Bristol City

Alan Foggon opened the scoring with his first home goal of the season & a brace from Mr Middlesbrough John Hickton, who enjoyed playing against Orient after scoring his last ever hat trick on the last day of the previous season, made sure the points stayed on Teesside.

Orient, along with Fulham, were one of 2 teams to score 2 goals past us at Ayresome Park & one of 6 teams to actually have the audacity to score a goal on our turf that season
Best season ever as a Boro fan for me, the following season, 1974/75 is right up there too
