Morning, Norman, saw your posts OTR re TRex and a former Boro chant. I seem to recall the chant was - We Are The Middlesbrough Boys. This was what I heard numerous times - one instance was at Maine Road in the FA Cup.

Big mob including Boot Boys came round the ground singing this and the City boys were on their toes! True story.

Be a bit before Lids time I imagine!!

My Dad tells a story that him, his brothers and their Dad (my Grandad) were on a mini bus and after the match they were being attacked by the Citeh lot and one of my uncles and my Grandad were first out of the back of the mini bus and getting stuck in.

I am sure there are different versions of this song but that is what we used to sing.

It is like the 'Bow legged chicken and knocked kneed hen song'.

At the end we would sing we walk with a wiggle and we don't give a w@nk, we are the boys from South Bank.

Not everyone can sing that.

I was there too that night got into the ground we were already one down. Traffic was crazy.story is Charlton was in a pub in Great Ayton and told the assembled throng they would be wasting their time going to Maine Road - as we would lose. And boy did we lose!
